Michigan State Sports Top 10 of the 2000

Came across this article today on spartymsu that lists five of the top 10 sports accomplishments at MSU over the last decade. Fun read, and informative – I must have missed ‘The Fumble’ heard ’round the state in 2005….

Michigan State Athletics

Michigan State has a tremendous basketball program, but when it comes to football their program has always had issues consistently competing against the University of Michigan (67-30-5). Just this year Chad Henne has gained some notoriety with the Miami Dolphins, but back in 2005 Henne was a sophomore at U of M and the team was 2-2 going into its game against Michigan State.

Michigan ended up winning the football game on a field goal in overtime against Michigan State, but that was an emotional moment for the Spartans.

More MSU Sports Moments

I’ll be curious to see what the top 5 moments in Spartan sports are. Hopefully another video or two of great in game heroics.

Next fall we hope a lot more fans will be wearing Michigan State tennis shoes to the games. And in 2010 we should have University of Michigan logo sneakers as well. Shameless plug over

MSU Sneakers – Walk ‘The Spartan Walk’ in style

“Go Green”, “Go White”, in Michigan there is arguably no rivalry deeper than that between MSU and that other blue and gold team. We developed the Spartan sneaker with the true fan in mind, a sneaker that would ‘pop’ but yet be sturdy enough to endure the game and maybe, just maybe, initiate a winning stream against the Wolverines.

Our ideas on the MSU Shoe

We aren’t the first to produce a true Michigan State sneaker. You’ve seen a mock Converse or two that have the state ‘S’ fastened to the sides with some green laces. Or maybe it’s that plain old white sneaker with the block ‘MSU’ stitched into the canvas.

Anyone can do that.

We wanted to create something with a little more ‘Moxie’, more funk, and a heck of a lot more color. But getting that MSU green just right is crucial, so we did a few color tests until we got it just right. Of course, the color varies in a photo

There are a number of different branded marks for the university, and that actually includes Sparty. But we felt the MSU sneaker was more compelling, more spicy if we stuck to the Green and White and didn’t introduce a flesh tone into the design.

MSU Sneakers arrive January 1st!

The full inventory of the MSU sneakers will arrive in the first of the year 2010. Be the first to own a pair, we aren’t Converse – not yet, we didn’t make thousands, so get them now before they’re gone. Here are the men’s sneakers, we have the same design in women’s sneakers with a lower profile and more modest toe.
